Our Teaching Philosophy

Compassion and kindness are our highest priorities. We support and care for our students as we facilitate learning in the classroom and provide a safe place for growth.

Mistakes are a vital part of the learning process, and when children have a safe place to make mistakes, they will learn, grow, and develop in amazing ways!

Play will be the tool we use most to make what children learn become part of who they are rather than information they temporarily store in their short-term memory. When children are young, guided play is the most developmentally appropriate practice.

Individual discovery is another important tool we’ll use. We believe that a teacher teaches most effectively when they guide their students toward discovering knowledge for themselves. This type of learning fosters self-reliance and self-confidence.

Every person–every child– has something valuable to contribute to society. We will work, and play, every day so that we can provide every child the opportunity to succeed in their own unique way. We know that each and every child is equally magnificent.

Powerful Pace

Sometimes weekly visits are best for meeting the needs of a child and their family, but sometimes it is more beneficial to them to do it differently.

Intensive therapies are carefully tailored to the needs of your child, utilizing occupational, physical, and speech therapy when necessary. The duration is based on individual needs.

This method requires a time investment upfront, but allows for more freedom later on. This can ease stress on families and family relationships.

Astonishing Advancement

Intensive therapies can work as well as, and sometimes better than, traditional once-a-week sessions.

Improved mastery of tasks/activities through increased repetition advances the fluidity of those tasks and happens in a shorter period of time.

Occupational Therapy

Purposeful Play

When a child is young, their occupation is play. As they grow, their occupation gradually transitions to school and work. Play-based Occupational Therapy helps children find meaning in what they do. It also helps them interact with teachers, friends, and family members in meaningful and helpful ways.

Stress Relieving Self Reliance

Building valuable life skills helps children be more self-sufficient and more confident. Living with confidence reduces stress and eases the burdens of individual children and families as a whole.

Funtime Freedom

Developing great motor skills and freedom of movement helps children in countless ways. There’s no surer way to bring a new sparkle into your child’s eyes than making it easier for them to get out there and play!

Movement Mastery

Life is a whole lot less frustrating when it’s easier to move around in it. Physical therapy can help your child bridge the gap between their abilities and the requirements of interacting with the world around them.

Superpower Speech

We all need better communications skills! But, for some children, being able to communicate more clearly and easily can change their whole world, making it less frustrating and much more joyful.

Delightful Development

Imaginative play is as important to childhood development as love is. Improved communication skills can mean the difference between mental and social delayed development and healthy development.

Family Support

Families of children with special needs have a tremendous and often overwhelming amount of information to process, people to communicate with and appointments to coordinate. The stress caused by these obligations can often strain the entire family. Our case management services aim to relieve some of that stress. We will meet with each family upon admission and discuss what your goals, dreams and obstacles are for both your child and your entire family. We will help develop a plan to address these plans, provide access to available resources and assist in coordinating communications. During your time with us we will continue to communicate with you to ensure you are receiving the support you need.
