Vision

Everyone has the ability to make a positive difference in the world. Our unique talents, personalities, skills, and characteristics, make us uniquely able to influence the world in different ways. But, not everyone has the tools they need to help them realize their individual potential to the fullest.
We want to see that change!
We envision a world where every child has the tools to make a positive and meaningful impact on the world around them and the people in it.
It’s a world we want to see, and it’s a world we’re working to create.

Mission

Happy families with strong emotional bonds and a unified purpose make happy children with happy core memories. Those happy children, in turn, make a happier, more stable society.
The play-based therapies we offer provide children and families the skills and tools they need to make life easier, less stressful, more productive, and more joyful. Once they can set aside the difficulties that unnecessarily impact their lives in negative ways, they are more free to create the family life they desire.
Our mission is to help every family we work with develop deeper bonds and find joy together, both now, and in the future.

Our Story

Helping children and families through therapy and education has been an important part of the Horn Family story for more than 30 years.

James Horn, also known as Jungle Jim or Mr. Jim to his adoring patients and their families, ran a successful pediatric therapy clinic in New York for 20 years before moving to Texas, where he has continued to serve children and their families as a pediatric therapist.

His daughter Kaylee grew up listening to her dad speak of his love for his patients and his passion for making life better for them and their families. Jim’s passion shaped and inspired Kaylee’s passion for improving children’s lives through education.

For many years now, Kaylee and Jim have wanted to merge the sensory processing practices of pediatric therapy and preschool education into one business that could serve as the vehicle for the two of them answering life’s call to make the world a better place by helping children and their families find joy, meaning, and purpose amidst the challenges they face each day.

JungleJym Academy is the realization of that long-held dream.

Our Therapy Specialties and Certifications

SIPT Certified

The Sensory Integration Praxis Test identifies sensory issues and helps us understand why a child struggles with  learning and behavior in certain settings.
SIPT is often seen as the best way to identify sensory issues, and SIPT certification is the highest level of certification a provider practicing sensory integration theory can achieve.

Advanced Trained in Integrated Listening (ILS)

Integrated Listening uses the varied frequencies of classical music combined with multi-sensory activites to help patients learn to process and analyze sensory information more effectively.

ILS is fun for patients of all ages.

Advanced Trained in Sensory Integration

Sensory Integration Therapy helps children learn to use the five senses of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch all together in more efficient ways.

This therapy uses structured, repetitive sensory stimulation to help a child’s brain adapt so that they can react to sensory input more appropriately.

Information about certification

NDT Certified

Neurodevelopmental Treatment is a specialized treatment approach for patients with neurological damage from things like Cerebral Palsy.
This treatment often makes life easier and more manageable, and, when started early, can help patients re-wire their brain with more effective neural pathways.

Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner (CKPT) (Pediatrics)

Kinesio Taping provides support and stability for healing muscles and joints. When done correctly, it can relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and speed healing.

Flexible tape is applied to the body in a precise way that modifies movement, but doesn’t restrict it.

Trained in Myofascial Release (MFR)

Myofascial Release helps relieve pain by gently stretching the body’s connective tissues.

This therapy helps children enjoy life more because they can move more freely and hurt less.

Trained in CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

CranioSacral Therapy relieves the pain and pressure caused by compression of the tissues and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

This extremely gentle but very effective treatment is an amazing way to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
